DAVID STUEMPFLE

David "Stumpy" Stuempfle brings 20 years as a Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks volunteer to his role as Interim Camp Director. While he has been a cabin counselor for every age group during his time at camp, for the past 15 years, Stumpy has been one of the Directors of the Leaders-in-Training (LIT) program for our 17 and 18 year old campers as they learn life skills to be used both in and out of our camp setting. Stumpy is extremely excited to work with our Board, leadership team, and volunteer staff to provide an exceptional experience for our new and returning campers to give them the opportunity to be who they are during our year-round programs...kids!

KAMEHA MCKINLEY

Hi! My name is Kameha (kuh - may - yuh) and I started attending camp in 2005 as a sunrise camper. Every year since then, camp has been a big part of my life & is one of the main reasons why I became a certified occupational therapy assistant for the pediatric population. I live with my handsome husband, Blake and two adorable kitties in Tucson, AZ. I enjoy playing board games, dancing and creating. Some of my favorite things to do at camp are get my nails painted at the Ladybug Salon, throw Jello at my co-counselors and sing my heart out around the campfire. I continue to volunteer at camp because it provides a safe place for former cancer patients & their siblings to play and explore. They deserve it!

JESSICA HAUSMAN

My name is Jessica Hausman and I’ve been involved with Arizona Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks for 17 years, 10 as a camper and 7 as a volunteer. I’m currently a first grade teacher in the North Phoenix area and love hiking with my dog, Pebbles. Camp has always been my home away from home and I have loved the incredible years of jello wars, activities and friendships I’ve made and hope to continue for years to come.

Adriana Walker
Family Coordinator

ADRIANA WALKER

Adriana has been involved with Camp Sunrise and Camp Sunrise Sidekicks since 2002. Her brother is a cancer survivor, so she and her other siblings initially joined as Sidekicks campers. Then, Adriana underwent the CIT (counselor in training) program and became a counselor in 2006. Adriana has since served the camp family as a counselor, an activities coordinator, and even as kitchen staff. Anywhere help was needed, Adriana would fill in. Over the past few years, she has assisted in running the camp check-in for the retreats and week long programs, helped with programing and planning, and other miscellaneous needs that come up throughout the year to ensure that each experience is the best it can be for campers and their families. Outside of camp, Adriana is a passionate and dedicated certified veterinary technician. She has deeply loved animals since childhood and now uses her knowledge and skills to serve animals and their families. Her career involves monitoring to ensure animal health and well-being and educating others on how to best care for their pets. When she is not working or volunteering, Adriana enjoys reading, crafting, and the outdoors. Her greatest ambition is to open and run a hobby hospice farm. In the course of her veterinary technician program, she found her love for exotic and large animals, making operating a hobby farm a perfect place to enjoy and expand her passion. She and her husband (who she met through camp when he also served as a Camp Counselor) share their home with their two young sons.

Colleen Murray
Asst. Camp Director

COLLEEN MURRAY

Greetings! My name is Colleen Murray (she/her) and I have been a Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks volunteer since 2002, mainly as a cabin counselor for the “Bees” (oldest female cabin group) and the the “Spiders” (youngest male cabin group). In 2022, I will serve as one of the interim Assistant Camp Directors for Camp Sidekicks. If you've spent any time at camp, it is easy to understand what drives so many of us to return year after year: those beautiful souls that we’re lucky enough to call our campers. Our smart, funny, adventurous, thoughtful, and brave Sunrise and Sidekicks campers are the true heart and home of Camp. They will make you laugh, remind you of what’s important, and they will most definitely cover you in Jell-O during our summer camp annual Jell-O War… and I can’t image the last 20 years without those memories.
